A «pattern» is an arrangement that repeats regularly, like: red, blue, red, blue… or circle, square, circle, square… When we notice the repetition, we can predict what comes next.

Patterns are not only about colors and shapes — they can also be numbers, like: 2, 4, 6, 8… where each number is two more than the one before it. This is called a «numeric sequence».
