Atop a high mountain lived a young falcon named Naseem, known among the mountain birds as the best one able to reach the distant valley and bring back news and food for everyone.

One day, his friends asked him to fly to the valley to check whether the trees had borne fruit, but Naseem felt lazy and decided to rest on a rock instead of going.

When his friends returned waiting for his news, Naseem told them the trees had not borne fruit yet, even though he had never actually gone and did not know the truth. Everyone believed him and decided to wait another week.

Days later, another falcon returning from a trip discovered that the trees had been full of fruit for a long time, and that the birds had nearly gone hungry from waiting needlessly. Naseem felt deeply ashamed of himself.

Naseem confessed the truth to his friends and apologized sincerely, saying, 'I learned that a small lie can cause great harm, and that my friends' trust is worth more than any temporary comfort.' His friends forgave him for admitting it bravely, and Naseem became a falcon whose word could always be trusted.

The Lesson: Honesty builds trust, and admitting a mistake takes more courage than hiding it.
