Ziad loved building tall towers of wooden blocks, but his little brother Adi would always come near at the last moment and knock the tower down with an innocent laugh, not understanding how long Ziad had spent building it. Ziad grew angry every time and shouted, «Get away from me, you ruin everything!».

After Adi knocked down a big tower for the third time in one day, Ziad cried in frustration and went to complain to his mother. She listened calmly, then said, «Adi is little and doesn’t yet understand that knocking down the tower upsets you, but he loves being near you and sharing your play. What if you included him in the building instead of pushing him away?».

Ziad thought about his mother’s suggestion, and the next day gave Adi the big blocks to place at the base, telling him patiently, «This is your turn, Adi, put the block here, and I’ll keep building on top». Adi was overjoyed to be part of the game, and waited patiently for his next turn instead of knocking the tower down.

That evening, the two brothers built the tallest tower they had ever made together, laughing as they added one block after another. Ziad realized that a little patience with his little brother cost him nothing at all — it had given him a playmate he never imagined he could enjoy so much.
