At Hope School, the teacher asked the fourth-grade students to plant a small garden in the schoolyard. She divided the children into groups, and Youssef was with his friends Omar, Sara, and Lina.
Youssef wanted to do everything himself. He grabbed the shovel and started digging alone, refusing anyone's help. He got tired quickly, seeds spilled everywhere, and the soil got messy. Very little progress was made.
The teacher sat beside him and said, Look at the bees, Youssef. Each bee does a small job, but together they build a whole hive full of honey. No one succeeds alone at everything.
Youssef thought about her words, then called his friends and apologized. They agreed to divide the work: Omar dug the holes, Sara placed the seeds, Lina watered the plants, and Youssef arranged the tools and helped everyone.
In just a few weeks, the garden grew full of colorful flowers and green plants, becoming the most beautiful garden in the school. The children stood looking at it proudly, and Youssef smiled and said, We never would have succeeded if I had worked alone.
The Lesson: When we work together as a team, we achieve better things than we could alone.
