In a quiet forest lived a beautiful dove with a band of pale feathers around her neck, who led a flock of doves she loved and always tried to keep safe. One day, while the flock searched for seeds on the ground, none of them noticed a large net that a clever hunter had spread, hiding grains of wheat beneath it to lure the birds.

Hungry, the flock swooped down onto the grain, and suddenly the net fell over them all, tightening its grip. Each bird tried to break free on its own, only tangling the net further, and the doves began to panic and give in to despair as the hunter hurried toward them, delighted at his plentiful catch.

Just then, the ringed dove called out in a calm, steady voice: 'My friends, do not struggle each on your own — that only tightens the trap around us! But if we all join together and beat our wings at exactly the same moment, we can lift the whole net and fly far away from the hunter.'

Frightened as they were, the flock listened to her, and they beat their wings together as one, with a single heartbeat. The net rose off the ground and carried all the birds up into the sky, leaving the hunter staring up in astonishment and disappointment.

The ringed dove flew with her flock to an old friend of hers, a wise mouse who lived nearby in a burrow. The birds landed close to him and asked for his help, and the mouse hurried over, gnawing through the net's threads one by one with patience and care, until the very last bird was set free.

The doves returned safely to their forest, grateful to their friend the mouse, and everyone had learned a great lesson: that cooperation in times of danger is stronger than any trap, that a loyal friend is a treasure beyond price, and that a wise leader is one who calms their companions in the hardest moments instead of adding to their fear.
