On a quiet sandy beach, dozens of baby sea turtles hatched for the first time and began crawling slowly toward the distant sea. Above them, a seagull named Sarab circled and watched the awe-inspiring scene, knowing the hatchlings’ journey was full of danger.

Sarab spotted other birds of prey hovering in the distance, waiting for a chance to swoop down on the vulnerable turtles before they reached safety. Sarab was not strong enough to fight them alone, but instead of giving up, he thought smart.

Sarab began circling loudly above the baby turtles, calling other seagulls in the area to join him, until a whole flock gathered, hovering over the turtles like a shield of wings, scaring off the birds of prey each time they drew near.

The baby turtles crawled safely until they finally reached the water and swam joyfully into the depths of the sea. Sarab landed on a nearby rock, tired but happy, and told his friends, «We didn’t have a tiger’s strength or a hawk’s talons, but our teamwork was a shield stronger than either».
